Robert Smithson #3

Robert Smithson is a painting, sculpture, and earthscape artist who uses nature's creations to create his own masterpieces. He seems to be obsessed with spirals and circles which shows in some of his art, but he does have other patterns where he shows his creativity as well. 

 The photo above was kind of funny. There is a manmade island because moved by a city. Maybe nature is being destroyed by human building and shaping the earth. The earth is changing so much that a manmade island had to be built. I'm not sure if this is what Smithson had in mind, but that is what I got from this photo. 

I like Robert Smithson's pieces. It was different than the other earth artist I've seen. He gave a bigger view of the surrounding and he used wider areas. it seemed like he put more work into his pieces.
