Graffiti
Class was pretty interesting on Wednesday. I like exploring different cultures and seeing the difference in life style and ideas. I'm not a huge fan of graffiti and I think it can cause problems. For example, the girl who was in LA talking about gang tagging, I think that's dumb and it's only going to cause trouble. There was some art that was pretty cool though. The graffiti that actually looks like art is really nice. I like how they use the spray cans to actually bring beauty to walls, but just writing names and tags is pretty dumb and it's not that great to look at. I don't consider writing your name on a wall being "art", but I do consider crafting a beautiful and thought-filled drawing or slogan being art because it's actually worth something and it will amaze many people. If were to walk down to LA and see a gang tag on a pole, I would think that the people who did it were dumb and I would think it was pointless effort. If saw a painting on a wall, I'd stop and stare at its uniqueness and really appreciate the picture and say, "Now THAT is real art."

I agree that the graffiti that represents artwork is nice, yet those who write on windows and trains and stuff is a form of vandalizing. I think it is only appropriate when they were providing artwork to the kids that werent taken to art museums or introduced to art as a child. I like your outlook and opinions. Nice blog too!
