The Matrix Film

I loved this film. I've never watched it before, but me being religious I can totally see the whole connection to Jesus's resurrection. I don't understand who the evil people were. Could they be demons, atheists, politics trying to get religion out of society (since they were in business suits), or just plain antagonist put there to make the film more interesting. Will the world ever know? Possibly... I also don't get why we saw this in class and what it had to do with art. ????? I should have paid attention more. :(
