Nancy Popp #2

Nancy Popp is a performance artist with an awesome name.



This piece was about having too much sweetness. Nancy wanted to cover herself in honey as she laid in a bowl to portray how having too much of what you want is not such a good thing.

 This is one of her more famous pieces. She climbed a street pole so she can get better view of the area from up high. She also wanted to watch the the flow of traffic and the movement of the people.

This performance involved Nancy isolating herself from the public for two days. I found this very interesting and very challenging, because humans need social time. This kind of reminded me of Marina Abramovic, because it seemed like Nancy was trying to test her body and mind by seeing how they reacted to unusual behavior.
